Our hotel with thermal spa in Montegrotto
Our hotel with thermal spa is in the largest thermal basin in Europe. The thermal waters of the Euganean Basin are classified as hyper-thermal while containing bromine and iodine salts. The water collects in the pristine basins of Monti Lessini in the foothills of the Vicenza Alps and flows through limestone rock at a depth of 2,000 to 3,000 metres, where it sometimes remains for decades and is enriched with valuable mineral salts. These mineral salts make our thermal water very special. After a journey of up to 80km, the thermal water (enriched with bromine and iodine) resurfaces in the Euganean Thermal Basin at a temperature of about 85°C.
Thermal water: in harmony with health
The thermal water for bath therapy at Resort & Spa Terme Preistoriche is cooled to between 36°C and 38°C and partially enriched with ozone. Its natural chemistry promotes healing of chronic inflammatory processes. Thermal water is also an important player in the maturing of thermal mud. During maturation, blue-green algae is formed which also accelerates the healing of inflammatory processes while having the same efficacy of an anti-inflammatory medicine. The pools of Resort & Spa Terme Preistoriche are all fed with this thermal water and have a temperature between 33°C and 36°C. They are all equipped with underwater massage jets and some are enriched with ozone. The neck surges are particularly popular. Both bathing in the thermal water and the underwater massage relieves complaints of arthritis and arthrosis, stimulates rehabilitation after trauma, enhances circulation, tones the muscles, and prevents cellulite and skin impurities from developing. Your body and mind will relax in the comfortably warm thermal water. This releases endorphins which then sparks your neurons, adding to a greater sense of well-being and restful sleep.
